Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs your use of the BookKei platform, websites, mobile applications, APIs, and any related services (collectively, the “Services”) provided by BookKei (“BookKei”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By accessing or using the Services, you (“Customer”, “you”, or “your”) agree to comply with this AUP. If you do not agree, you may not use the Services.
1. Scope and Relationship to Other Agreements
This AUP is incorporated by reference into any agreement between you and BookKei, including our Terms of Service and any subscription or order form you have accepted (collectively, the “Agreement”).
If there is a conflict between this AUP and the Agreement, the Agreement will control to the extent of the conflict, except where this AUP imposes additional restrictions on use of the Services.
2. Responsible Use of the Services
You are responsible for:
- All activity that occurs under your account, including by your employees, contractors, and other authorized users (“End Users”).
- Ensuring that your End Users understand and comply with this AUP and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintaining the confidentiality and security of your login credentials and any API keys.
You must immediately notify BookKei if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account or any security incident involving the Services.
3. Prohibited Activities
You may not use, or allow others to use, the Services for any activity that BookKei reasonably believes:
- Violates any applicable law, regulation, court order, or contractual obligation.
- Infringes, misappropriates, or violates any intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of BookKei or any third party.
- Is harmful, fraudulent, deceptive, threatening, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the following activities are strictly prohibited:
3.1 Illegal, Harmful, or Abusive Behavior
- Using the Services for any unlawful purpose (including but not limited to fraud, money laundering, or promotion of illegal products or services).
- Using the Services to stalk, harass, threaten, or intimidate any person or business.
- Promoting self-harm, violence, hate speech, or discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
- Distributing content that is pornographic, sexually explicit involving minors, or otherwise violates applicable obscenity or child protection laws.
- Using BookKei to book, advertise, or facilitate services that are illegal in the jurisdiction where they are offered or booked.
3.2 Security Violations
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, network, or data.
- Penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, or reverse engineering of the Services without prior written permission from BookKei.
- Introducing malware, viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware, or any other malicious code.
- Interfering with or disrupting the integrity or performance of the Services or any third-party data or systems connected to the Services.
3.3 Spam, Messaging Abuse & Unsolicited Communications
- Using SMS, email, or other communication features within BookKei to send unsolicited bulk messages, spam, or marketing communications without valid consent.
- Using misleading or deceptive headers, sender names, or subject lines.
- Failing to provide a clear and functional opt-out mechanism where required by law.
- Engaging in activities that may cause our SMS, email, or notification providers to flag or block BookKei traffic.
3.4 Misuse of Calendars, Bookings, and Integrations
- Creating fake or fraudulent bookings, accounts, or calendar events.
- Scraping, copying, or exporting data from connected calendars in a way that violates the terms of those third-party providers (e.g., Google, Microsoft).
- Using calendar integrations in ways that circumvent rate limits, security controls, or fair-use policies of third-party services.
- Automating bookings or cancellations in a manner that is abusive or disruptive to your own customers or staff.
3.5 Payment, Fraud and Chargebacks
- Using BookKei to process payments for services or products that are illegal, high-risk, or prohibited by the payment processors we work with.
- Submitting or facilitating fraudulent chargebacks or payment disputes.
- Misrepresenting the nature of your business, services, or prices to customers.
3.6 Misrepresentation & Unauthorized Use of BookKei Brand
- Impersonating BookKei or falsely implying that you are affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of BookKei.
- Using BookKei’s trademarks, logos, or branding without our prior written permission, except as explicitly allowed in our brand guidelines (if provided).
3.7 Excessive Use & Platform Abuse
- Using automated tools, bots, or scripts that generate excessive load on our infrastructure or degrade the performance for other users.
- Circumventing or attempting to circumvent any usage limits, seat limits, or technical restrictions of your subscription plan.
- Reselling, sublicensing, or otherwise providing access to the Services to third parties outside the scope of your Agreement.
4. Content Standards
You are solely responsible for all content submitted, posted, stored, or otherwise transmitted via the Services by you or your End Users (“Customer Content”). Customer Content must not:
- Violate any law or regulation, including data protection, privacy, and intellectual property laws.
- Contain personal data of individuals without a valid legal basis or appropriate consent where required.
- Infringe any third-party copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, patents, or other proprietary rights.
- Include sensitive personal data (such as health data, financial account numbers, or government IDs) unless explicitly permitted and adequately protected.
BookKei does not assume any obligation to monitor Customer Content but reserves the right to remove or disable access to any content that, in our reasonable judgment, violates this AUP or applicable law.
5. Protection of Personal Data
You must use the Services in accordance with all applicable data protection and privacy laws (including, where applicable, the GDPR, CCPA, and similar regulations). In particular, you agree to:
- Provide all required notices and obtain all required consents from your customers and End Users before collecting or processing their personal data via the Services.
- Not upload or store personal data in the Services that you are not legally authorized to process.
- Promptly notify BookKei of any suspected or actual data breach involving the Services where BookKei may reasonably be implicated.

6. API and Integration Usage
If BookKei provides APIs, webhooks, or other integration endpoints, your use of these interfaces is subject to the following additional rules:
- You must comply with any published rate limits, technical documentation, and authentication requirements.
- You may not use APIs to create a competing service or to replicate substantial portions of the Services.
- You may not share API keys publicly or embed them in client-side code where they can be easily extracted.
- You are responsible for any data transmitted via your integrations, including obtaining all required consents for connected third-party accounts (e.g., Google Calendar, Outlook, SMS providers, payment gateways).
7. Enforcement & Consequences of Violations
BookKei may, in its sole discretion and without liability to you, take any of the following actions if we reasonably believe that you or your End Users have violated this AUP or pose a risk to the Services, other customers, or third parties:
- Issue a warning and request that the violation be corrected.
- Temporarily limit or suspend your access to some or all of the Services.
- Disable or remove any content that violates this AUP.
- Disable calendar connections, SMS/email sending, or specific integrations.
- Terminate your account in accordance with the Agreement.
- Cooperate with law enforcement or regulators and disclose information as required by law.
Where reasonable and legally permitted, we will attempt to provide you with prior notice of any planned suspension or termination, but we are not obligated to do so in cases of serious or repeated violations, security risks, or unlawful activity.

Please provide as much detail as possible (including relevant URLs, screenshots, logs, and any other evidence) so that we can investigate the matter promptly.
9. Changes to this AUP
BookKei may update this AUP from time to time to reflect changes in law, technology, or our business practices. When we make material changes, we will update the “Effective date” at the top of this page and may provide additional notice as required by law.
Your continued use of the Services after any changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated AUP. If you do not agree with the updated AUP, you must stop using the Services.
