California Privacy Notice (CCPA/CPRA)

This California Privacy Notice supplements the information contained in our Privacy Policy and applies solely to residents of the State of California (“California Consumers” or “you”). We adopt this notice to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (“CPRA”), and any implementing regulations (collectively, the “California Privacy Laws”).

This Notice explains how JKZ NETWORK, doing business as BookKei (“BookKei”, “we”, “us” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, “sells,” and “shares” personal information of California Consumers and how you can exercise your rights under California Privacy Laws.


1. Who We Are

BookKei is an online booking and scheduling platform that enables businesses (“Business Owners” or “Merchants”) to offer services and manage appointments. We process personal information of both our direct customers (e.g., business owners and staff) and end customers who book services with those businesses.

2. Scope of This California Privacy Notice

This Notice applies to personal information of California Consumers that we collect in our capacity as a “business” under California Privacy Laws, including when you:

  • Visit, use, or interact with our website, landing pages, or online services;
  • Create a BookKei account or are added as staff by a business owner;
  • Book or purchase services through a business that uses BookKei;
  • Connect external calendars (e.g., Google or Outlook) to our platform;
  • Communicate with us or our customer support; or
  • Receive marketing or transactional communications from us.

Some California Businesses using BookKei may be independent “businesses” or “controllers” under California Privacy Laws. Their practices are governed by their own privacy notices, which we encourage you to review separately.


3. Personal Information We Collect

“Personal information” (or “PI”) has the meaning given in the California Privacy Laws and generally includes information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household.

In the last 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information about California Consumers:

We collect personal information directly from you, from your interactions with our Services, from Business Owners who use our platform, from service providers, and from publicly available sources, as described in our main Privacy Policy.


4. Purposes for Collecting Personal Information

We may use or disclose the personal information we collect for one or more of the following business or commercial purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain our Services, including online booking and calendar integration.
  • To create, maintain, customize, and secure your account with us.
  • To process your bookings, transactions, and payments.
  • To provide you with support and respond to your inquiries and requests.
  • To send service-related communications, such as booking confirmations, reminders, and important updates.
  • To personalize your experience and improve our website, products, and services.
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and other harmful activity.
  • To conduct analytics, research, and product development.
  • To promote BookKei and communicate with you about features, offers, and services, subject to your preferences.
  • To comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, and protect our rights and the rights of others.

5. Disclosure of Personal Information

In the preceding 12 months, we have disclosed personal information for business purposes to the following categories of recipients:

  • Business Owners/Merchants that use BookKei to provide services to you;
  • Service providers that perform services on our behalf (such as hosting, payment processing, email and SMS delivery, analytics, and customer support);
  • Business partners where necessary to offer joint services or integrations;
  • Professional advisors (lawyers, accountants, auditors) as needed;
  • Law enforcement or regulators, when required by law or to protect our rights;
  • Successors or assigns in the event of a merger, acquisition, or other business transfer.

When we disclose personal information for a business purpose, we enter into contracts that describe the purpose and require the recipient to keep that personal information confidential and not use it for any purpose except performing the contract.


6. “Selling” or “Sharing” Personal Information

California Privacy Laws distinguish between “selling” personal information (disclosing it to a third party for monetary or other valuable consideration) and “sharing” it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

BookKei does not sell personal information as the term “sell” is traditionally understood. We also do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

To the extent our use of cookies, analytics, or advertising tools could be considered “sharing” or “selling” personal information under California Privacy Laws, you may have the right to opt out of this activity. If such tools are enabled, we will:

  • Provide a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link or mechanism; and
  • Honor browser-based opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control (GPC), where required by law.

7. Retention of Personal Information

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Notice and our Privacy Policy, including to satisfy legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or reporting requirements. When we no longer need personal information, we will delete or de-identify it in a secure manner.


8. Your Privacy Rights Under California Law

Subject to certain exceptions and limitations, California Consumers have the following rights in relation to their personal information:

  • Right to Know / Access: You have the right to request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business or commercial purpose for collecting, selling, or sharing your personal information, and the categories of third parties with whom we disclose personal information.
  • Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (for example, when we need the information to complete a transaction, detect security incidents, comply with a legal obligation, etc.).
  • Right to Correct: You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information that we maintain about you.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: If we “sell” or “share” your personal information, you have the right to direct us to stop doing so at any time.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: If we use or disclose your sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those authorized by California law, you may have the right to limit such use or disclosure. At this time, we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information in a way that triggers this right.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment by us for exercising any of your privacy rights, including denying services, charging different prices, or providing a different level or quality of services.

9. How to Exercise Your California Privacy Rights

To exercise your rights described above, please submit a verifiable consumer request to us by:

  • Or using any dedicated privacy request form or link that we may provide on our website.

Only you, or a person registered with the California Secretary of State that you authorize to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information.
